The majority of our friends are artists, social workers, educators and journalists. Of course when we showed up with our obnoxious 4th of July outfits they attributed it to the fact that were were newlyweds. They said we looked like a married couple. They didn’t interpret us as being patriotic. As for the rest of the people in Prospect Park hey…not so sure about them. I’m first generation American and feel very much Haitian as I feel American. What I enjoy most about the holiday is the time spent with family, friends and good food. My dear friend Abbie offered to snap some photos of us and of course only while editing did I notice that Josh isn’t wearing his boat shoes. I got him a pretty sweet pair of navy bumpy leather ones from Urban Outfitters earliest this spring for our engagement photo shoot which . . .
