this wee blouse is a bit racy for me, but hey it’s spring time. i usually wear this scarf to go to bed, but made an attempt at transforming it into a turban. i should really watch a tutorial. pardon my sleepy eyes. same old–same old, crazy busy. but it’s friday and my freezer is well stocked with ice cream.

vacations are bad, very, very bad! i’ve known for a long time that i’m not cut out for short vacations but josh’s family proposed a trip and we couldn’t refuse. it was great fun. the bad part is coming back to reality. sheesh! we’ve been home for a week and i’m sort of getting back into the groove of no longer living in the hollywood hills, no longer having a view of the city from my bedroom-and the bathroom don’t let me get into the bathroom. it had a sauna, jacuzzi and wet shower. and one whole wall was all windows facing the city with more views. i’m very grateful to josh’s family for being so generous and for providing us with such a comfortable home to stay in. school will be out in two months and we’ll be headed back to cali for a wedding and then . . .

on a recent trip to beacon’s before my trip out west i found this tribal betsey johnson dress. i typically go for fit over print, however this print just one me over, while not the most flattering for me (i don’t really fill out the top) i quite love this dress. you may remember this sweater from our wedding. every time i wear it, it reminds me of our magical day. these photos were taken on the streets of the hollywood hills near our rental home and in the angeles national forest.

yes, more orange i couldn’t help myself. we snapped these photos on the property of a retirement home in ohai. it’s been a while since i snuck into a place to take photos. i was much more relaxed this time around because we attempted to ask permission to take photos, but couldn’t find anyone. we only found a sweet little granny in the lobby, we briefly spoke to her and she desperately asked us to come back again. we totally should have visited with her longer. gosh as much as i love brooklyn it is so great to be here right now. outfit details: sweater second hand free people, dress vintage, shoes vintage ferragamo, necklace christmas gift from josh

somehow orange has managed to creep it’s way back into my life in a major way. i was dead set on trading orange for blue, what with spring here, the brights are calling my name. this time around my closet has a good amount of neutrals to balance things out. march has been the busiest month yet, hence the awesome bags under my eyes. well, i’m welcoming april with open arms, hoping the rain will encourage lots of naps and restful sleep. outfit details: coat vintage worn here, here & here, purse vintage, dress vintage via, platforms j. . . .

it won’t be long until this coat gets put away so i figured i’d throw it on and head to the park for a bike ride with the husband. most days i wear skirts or dresses to work but its so much easier cycling with pants. my navy blue vintage oxfords purchased for eight or nine bucks may very well be my most worn piece of foot wear. love those shoes. i considered putting a pop of red in this outfit somewhere but then decided to monochrome. while we were taking these pics there were two people, a guy and a girl. i’d like to think they were dating or in a band together but anyways they were sitting by the pond playing mandolin and singing. the woman had an incredible voice and i’m a sucker for string instruments…couldn’t stop dancing. outfit details: jacket vintage, blouse vintage, . . .

most sundays i go to my hometown in queens and see my parents. they live a few minutes from the beach. it’s such a lovely treat to take a stroll and take in deep breaths of the sea. we saw an old man and his wife with a bag of bread. they had come to feed the seagulls. unfortunately there were none around and i kind of felt bad for the couple they were there for a while with their bread on the ground just waiting. so i am crazy in love with this blouse. i got it from beacon’s and guess what? it came with a micro pleated skirt to match. i haven’t worn the skirt yet but i’m really excited to mix and match and possible wear the two pieces together. the best feature about this blouse besides the print is that the ascot is . . .

my new hairdo…i don’t quite have a reason why except that it was time. so urgently so that once i had resolved to cut my hair it had to be done immediately. the idea was looming over me for quite some time years now and i finally had the guts to do it. this is my second big chop and it never ceases to amaze me how attached we can get to an identity. i’ve settled into this new self and i am basking in the freshness of it.
