so we have been cooking up a storm around these parts. we finally used our strand book store gift cards from our wedding. i know our wedding was a year and a half ago, good thing it didn’t expire. i’m glad we waited because we bought the best cookbooks. so far we’ve made eggplant tahini to bring to our friend’s birthday dinner and we had our friends over for cod cakes in tomato sauce, pictured above. i first discovered these cookbooks at my m.i.l’s place and then over new years at our friends farm, one of our friend’s cooked an amazing dinner using this cookbook. as you can see the cookbook is beautiful and trust me the recipes are delicious. the book plenty has all vegetarian dishes and while i’m no longer a strict vegetarian we do eat vegetarian meals a couple times a week andĀ could definitely step up our game.
p.s. we hosted the super bowl again this year for a crowd of twenty five, and made three different kinds of chili black bean-sweet potato-quinoa chili, beef and lamb chili adapted from cooks illustrated, and texas chili forĀ dessert we served up some meyer lemon bars. our friends also brought some delicious sweets like homemade bundt almond cake and goods from her bakery.

I love the those recipe books. do you have any weekly meal plans to share with me?
TOI, I’m happy to email you some ideas for meals. I’ll be in touch lady.
My hubs is vegerarian, and I will definitely be adding this book to my collection.
After reading this, it dawned on me that I don’t own any cookbooks.
I’m not a vegetarian, but I’ve been wanting to incorporate delicious main dishes that centered around vegetables. I’ll be looking into “Plenty”. Thanks for the recommendation!
my latest cookbook purchase was about whole grain recipes, now i think i have to have that vegetarian one. thanks for the info and happy cooking!
ps. stay warm!
This looks like quite the cook-up as we say in the Caribbean;)
So you cook all this delcious food and dont share not even one picture! I wanna see YOUR codcakes!
I think cook books are beautiful but I depend mostly on the internet (mainly Pinterest) for my recipes.
K. Rock, we cook mostly during the evenings and food photos look the best in natural light. Our cod cakes weren’t as pretty as these. It was hard to keep them together but they sure were delicious!
Oh these look amazing! I might have to search around for these. I tend to not cook anything that takes more than 30 minutes, but I have slowly been experimenting outside of my bubble. I thought of you yesterday actually! I made loads of stock from a lamb bone and stuck it in the freezer. It reminded me of your soup post awhile back.
Ha, I was looking at both those cookbooks over Christmas to maybe get for my sister, but decided she has enough cookbooks. Still have them bookmarked though!
Hi you have such a nice blog I love your fashion and great pics. Visiting from Living F.A.B.ulously on Purpose
