A Bit Wintry

i have been rocking this coat all winter like it’s my job. it’s so heavy and warm.  i lurve it, i really do. i scored this one at a church thrift store in new hampshire last winter after a snowboarding trip.  i’ve only spotted two people with the same coat. a random woman in caroll gardens and ashley of fancy fine. my poor other coats are so jealous, they really aren’t getting any play. i need to seriously give this one a rest but it’s either this or my snowboarding jacket because i just can’t sacrifice being cold. this coat was 20 bucks well spent.

after storm nemo josh and i took a walk in prospect park. it’s been so cold but we’ve had very little snow. i have to admit it took a lot for me to leave the comforts of my warm and cozy couch and go out into the cold, but it was well worth it.  there were a ton of people out sledding with their kids. we even saw one man put his kid in a large plastic tupperware bin and slid him down a small hill. the kid was pretty small and it looked a little dangerous but the kid was loving it and had a blast.  we saw a couple of kids with lunch trays too and they really picked up a lot of speed. they were many a fancy tobaggans, but the ones where people found random items in their homes to use as sleds really caught my eye. my wee little one will be too young for sledding  next year, but i’m sure seeing and touching the snow will be so stimulating. after our walk we ended up going to the greenlight bookstore and picked up some books. i’m reading ina may gaskin’s guide to childbirth and he’s reading healthy sleep habits happy child and also the sisters brothers.

hey, look what we found! the biggest snow man ever.  i can only imagine how huge it must look to that little boy.

outfit details: coat vintage, sweater vintage, denim blouse f21, shorts f21, boots j.crew, hat h&m (a while back)
