i saw this film back in the late 90′s and decided to watch it again last week. it did not disappoint. back in 2005, i took a short walk to the brooklyn museum where there was over a hundred pieces of basquiat’s work. it was quite eery to see his art there. some of his work was on doors and scraps of wood and metal that could have easily been seen around the lower east side in the 80′s. with so much time between when i saw it last, it was like seeing it for the first time.

I’ve heard people talk about this movie on numerous occasions. I really need to just watch it myself. Thx for the reminder!
Ive heard of this movie but never watched it!

I love Basquiat, I too have seen his art work in various museums . I also watched the movie with my husband back in the 90′s. Sad but very intriguing.
This is the first time I’m finding out about the movie, I’ll definitely check it out from my local library or online. (
