i quit coffee. i was addicted and needed to stop, so i quit cold turkey. gosh! it’s incredibly tough, i feel horrible most days. super tired, irritable, headaches and dry mouth. i know in the long run it’ll be better, but it’s been seven days and i have yet to recuperate from years of drinking coffee daily. notice how i can barely keep my eyes open in the third photo. i’ve been so sluggish and dragging my body around, every day gets better though. i think i’ve gone through the worst parts of withdrawal. so on to the outfit. if i wear short shorts they must be loose. that’s my little personal rule about shorts. i quickly threw this outfit together to have a late brunch with josh. it was inspired by this lady’soutfit. i realized i hadn’t worn my polka dot tights yet, so i wanted to give them a go. it came with a pink/plum polka dot combo too. looking forward to styling those. it’s officially cold in nyc, time to bust out the long coats and sweaters.
outfit details: coat vintage, denim shirt f21, vest vintage, shorts f21, tights h&m, boots nine west, purse vintage

How fun are those tights. How congrats on quitting the coffee, I have neither the will or desire to do it. lol
I love this outfit! I’m super inspired by everything you’ve been wearing lately, actually, maybe because I’m trying to streamline and wear more simple things with attention to detail, which is what you always do.
As for coffee… ugh. I remember trying to go a week without tea one time. By the afternoon of the second day no one could live with me and my mom practically force-fed me a cup. Have you switched to decaf? I hope you’re drinking lots of water… anyway, keep us posted on that, I’d be interested to know how you feel in a month or so, if it makes a drastic improvement to your life…
Emily, my mom suggested that I ween myself slowly by drinking decaf black tea two days and then a decaf coffee one day. I didn’t do that. I just stopped all caffeine and it was very emotional and extremely difficult. I’ve been drinking lots of water, spritzers and even bough coconut water to stay super hydrated. I’ll let you know how it goes. Eventually, I’ll drink some decaf tea but I just felt I needed to put a halt on things.
Absolutely love this outfit! Your tights are perfection!! Hope the withdrawal gets better!
Thanks Faith, today was the best day yet, each day gets a little easier.
good for you! that is awesome! i can’t do it so instead of coffee i drink for tea, still has caffeine but at least i feel like its better for me. maybe take some vitamins to help get your energy back? love this out fit so much. i am a huge fan of tights with shorts or short skirts. so cute!
xo,
cb
Yes, will do, I increased my protein intake for extra energy, but I should really remember to take my vitamins as well. Thanks for reminding me.
You did what now!?!
Go Tipa!!!
That sweater vest looks super cute!
Congrats! I was super addicted to coffee for a while and had to go cold turkey. I’m drinking it again now but only when sitting at a café and taking the time to enjoy a nice cup of it and never more then one a day.
Love the tights! Super cute!
great job quitting coffee. I hope it works out for you, I am sure it will. Have you tried eating a big juicy apple in the morning? apples are great for energy and are said to give you better energy in the morning than coffee.
I have never had a sip of coffee, like many others, so it’s possible to have energy in the morning!! so just keep at it!
love the tights.
You are SO cayooot! I love it. It’s great!
! man i love the way you layered in this outfit. but those tights are my fave
i’ve been wanting some patterned tights but didn’t want anything super obnoxious; these dots are cute and classy.
good luck with the coffee quits. that’s cool you’re just doing it cold turkey. i’ve never had a caffeine problem, that withdrawal sounds awful
keep it up, it will all be worth it/eat lots of chocolate…?
Good for you for quitting coffee! I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go that far. I’ve managed to cut down to one cup a day in the morning, but I love it too much. It’s nuts to think about the physical effects caffeine has on your body, though. Holy withdraw symptoms – hang in there! xo.
YUCK!! That jacket and those tights are so ugly!! Listen, I don’t want you to embarrass yourself any further. Put them both in a box, and mail them to me…I’ll take care of them for you. Might as well toss those lil booties in the box also.
I’m here to help.
ive never been a coffee drinker but good luck…i know it can be addictive! the tights are sooo cute…Dani is hilarious!
Such a fun, playful and girlish outfit.xx
Your polka dot tights are so adorable! This is the perfect way to wear shorts when it’s cold outside
Good for you for quitting coffee. I’m not as bad as I used to be, but I still don’t think I could quit cold turkey!
As one former caffeine addict to another, it will get better as our body adjusts to it. It took me about a month to stop craving coffee, now for some bizarre reason I don’t like the flavor, but I still loooooooove the smell of freshly made coffee. I still have my flavored one shot of espresso from Starbucks ones a month, so maybe I’m a bad example. I drink lots of caffeine free tea, flavored with natural fruits and water has helped me in the past year.
Back to fashion, I love the polka dot tights and boots.
