every time i take off on one of my adventures, my mom says, “viv ti la vie ou,” live your little life. whenever i step outside of the country and out of my comfort zone, i associate it with living out this tiny life of mine. and so we did. we hopped on a plane and followed summer, down to haiti, where we came together in anticipation of my cousin’s first born child. haiti nourishes my spirit like no place else in the world.

Great photos in a beautiful place.

Awesome photos! I looks gorgeous.
Wonderful photos! I’d love to see more of your time in Haiti; it’s a country that has always interested me a lot. What’s the food in the picture with the limes, that looks a bit like ceviche?
You’re looking radiant in all of these. It’s funny what returning “home” does for us. I always feel renewed when I go to Yorkshire, as I’ve said on my blog.
Thanks Emily. We were eating grilled conch and we dipped it in a a spicy, citrus sauce.
Also, I love your mom’s saying. Words to live by, for sure…

My husband went to Haiti this past February for his grandfather’s funeral. Unfortunately, that was his first time going. I’ve never been but maybe when the kids get older, we’ll head that way.
