today, i’d like to pay homage to gabby douglass… “she is the first african american and first woman of color in olympic history to become the individual all-around champion, and the first american gymnast to win gold in both the individual all-around and team competitions at the same olympics.” she is certainly an inspiration to me, the young women in my family and young women all over the world.

Yayyy for Gabby!! I love her =) It’s amazing to think that at her first big meet she wasn’t even officially in the competition but she won (but she didn’t get the medal because she was only an exhibitionist at the meet, jordyn won)

That was a great video/story. Thanks for sharing. I had no idea there were these “raising an olympian” videos out there so after I watched this one I watched many many more. We haven’t been able to watch the Olympics so these videos made me feel a little like I was a part of it.
