last saturday i had the pleasure of spending the evening with kathryn of kitsune-kun and her husband ryan. we went to the brooklyn flea which is held in the old williamsburg savings bank during the winter. it was so fun to take them down to the vault which now serves as a space for vendors selling vintage rugs, clothing and nick nacks on the weekends. there were so many tempting items but food was the most important part of the agenda. the brooklyn flea has some great food vendors. we feasted on delicious papusas and then headed to fort greene park for a stroll. we were freezing after the park and had some tea and hot chocolate at a cafe close by. kathryn is as lovely in person as she is on her blog. the conversation just flowed and flowed. i enjoyed showing kathryn and ryan around town. they both appreciated the history of the places we visited. i can’t wait to meet up with these guys again. last year i had the pleasure of meeting emily of ruby slipper journeys and kirstie of eccentric without reason. hmm i wonder who will be next? i decided since i was meeting up with a blogger that i’d wear a dress i bought from a blogger. i purchased this lovely drop waist dress from ashley of milk teeths.
it’s been such a busy time of year at work and for this reason i haven’t been around to say hello. i haven’t had any free time to read anything other than term papers. i’ve been spending most of my evenings helping students get caught up since some have procrastinated all semester and then i come home and do more grading. our new term starts next week so things should be back to normal soon. photos by ryan & kathryn

That dress is just amazing! I never would have thought to have bought it, but now I kind of wish I had! I love the way the sharp collar makes you look arty and defiant. And of course, I love blogger meetups, and think back especially fondly on ours. : )
