we had a jammed packed weekend. instead of going to vermont we went and saw our friend’s band, kleenex girl wonder. the lead singer graham smith sang and played guitar in our wedding ceremony so we’re always excited to see him play. they played at rock shop which is a venue i’ve never been too. it was a decent space and they played an amazing show. i love going out to hear live music. we did some apple picking with my niece and 3 nephews. taking four kids out and about was so fun. by the end of the day though….i got pretty tired as evidenced by the last two photos. they are all really goofy and ate way too many apples. we also had burgers and homemade donuts from fishkill farms. the donuts were so perfect….warm, a tiny bit crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. we were all a fan of the cinnamon sugar ones. on to the outfit. i haven’t worn this dress since my engagement photo session. i certainly should have scrapped the belt. i was really inspired by my dear blog friend maria ramona of custard heart vintage. i loved her red tights and dug deep into my drawer and found my pair. thanks for the inspiration maria. oh and this hair style was inspired by franchesca. and one of my friend’s told me this is her favorite quote and she wants a tattoo of it. i thought it was lovely. and would love to share it with you. it’s from the neutral milk hotel song in the aeroplane over the sea… “but for now we are young, let us lay in the sun and count every beautiful thing we can see….”

I am in love with your hair! The whole outfit is really sweet. Your weekend sounds amazing, I have six nieces and nephews and they are a handful too, but such a blast!
I think the belt is great w/ it- adds a good “fall” touch, as do the fun tights & pretty scarf. Your niece and nephews are just too cute, oh my, I love that picture with you and them, looks like you’re all having so much fun. Kids certainly are tiring though!
white with four littles running about…you brave soul. x.
ahh I love the crisp white of your dress with your orange stockings, so pretty. AND oh man your hair!! It looks amazing. Did you get it done recently?
nope did my hair myself. i’d love to learn more just started watching online tutorials.

All of my favourite bloggers have been going apple picking! I don’t think I’ve ever been. Your outfit and hair are both adorable!

What I like on you is that you don’t look like all the other fashion blogs. You have your own style, I really like this! By the way, the red looks so great with white. Thank you so much!
Love the hair & that scarf!!!
Picking apples with the kiddies…looks fun; & those donuts sound delicious.
thanks for the shout out Monique, my dear. i am honored and flattered and i think i may have early stage alzheimers ’cause i can’t remember the outfit at the moment, will have to check your link right now.
p.s. i may just have to go apple-picking myself this year. you make it look like loads of fun (and you look adorable doing it).
