happy halloween folks! i worked this outfit out in my head and was unsure how it would turn out once i threw it on, but i am happy with the results. i typically don’t mix black and brown but it was well executed by annalise, kallie and raquel and i was inspired to try it out. this was my getup for brunch at bubby’s in dumbo yesterday. we had a feast with some friends that were in town that we haven’t seen in a while. this place hast the flakiest buttermilk biscuits ever… and they come out warm and adding more butter and some jam to it is just delicious. after brunch everyone walked over to the carousel for a ride. i hope you all are having a wonderful halloween. what with the new job and all party hopping on a monday, i just couldn’t swing it but i did help my hubs get ready to paint the town red tonight. i will live vicariously. i did eat lots of candy with the students today and got my fix.
outfit details: sweater vintage via, belt came with a lulus dress, pants h&m, boots vintage aigner, coat second hand marc by marc jacobs(20$)

your head was right. I totally do that, its funny how it can be so hit or miss with the proportions. I love this dude. So much. The colors, the shapes. I’ve been really uninspired by knee high boots and how to style them but I think you just hit the nail on the head here. Tumbling this!
so cute with the coat. x.
I like these colors together. Not easy to pull off, but this looks really good.

Fantastic outfit – I think you pull off the black/brown thing perfectly – it’s all about the detail I think!
Love it…who takes your photos…? They are magazine worthy…

Love the color of these pants & wow, more Agner boots, lucky you! I really like the simplicity of this outfit, there’s something elegant about the brown & black together but perfect for walking around town. & that coat, always love it! Thanks for your kind comment! To answer your questions: Yep, they are Etinee Agner. boot twins! tehe. They really are beautiful, although I think I’m still getting funny look as to why I’m not in flip flops in Arizona. The students are here through a government scholarship for just 8 weeks so we really want to show them lots of “American things.”
Glad to hear you didn’t miss out on the candy at least : )
sounds like such a fun day! and I LOVE black and brown together- who ever made that rule that they shouldn’t match? it looks so good:)
The mix of brown and black really did turn out well, and it looks extra stylish in that setting.
ah! i had not put it together that it was you who bought the dotted sweater, but it totally just put a smile on my face. i just love how you’ve styled it!
and that whole ‘no black with brown or navy’ rule is just silly! you look wonderful.
