Film Fridays: Blue Valentine

Every Friday I will be posting a film that I enjoyed. The Mr. and I spend a lot of time watching movies and listening to records, I thought it would be a fun idea to share some of what we’ve watched with you. While we were out in the Georgia Woods, we had one full day of rain, which meant we were stuck inside. Unable to play tennis, horse shoes, or basketball we all decided to cozy up by the fire and watch this film. A friend of a friend is a critic and had a copy of this movie. I had planned to go see this in the theater and I still will.  I enjoy a big screen in a tiny independent theater.  Any fun weekend plans? This weekend I will be meeting up with my lady friends for our monthly book club meeting. We read (I’m still not done reading yet) A Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart you can learn more about the book here. I’m going to bake a cake to bring to the meeting. I’ll let you know how it all turns out.

Have a wonderful weekend…

Please excuse this blog’s apearance, she is  under construction

I've heard of the film and its getting great reviews. So what did you think of it? I looked at the link for the book and the humor is right up my alley. I'll be making a friendly visit to my local bookstore to pick this book up.
Enjoy your day with the your book club. I'm sure you all will be laughing your butts off and gaining some "real" thighs eating all that yummy cake.

    Have a great weekend!

Aww how romatic watching movies together. I wish we could. Looks like a good movie :)

I read a review about Blue Valentine recently and watching the short makes me even more interesting in seeing it – can't believe that it was filmed over several years and mostly because Ryan Gosling didn't feel like he was "old enough" to play someone in a grown-up relationship. The movie just waited for them to get older. Will probably have to wait a while until it's released here, but I'm looking forward to it.

Yvonne, I really enjoyed Blue Valentine. There are some scenes that really tear at one's heart strings but there is definitely a very real and raw element. It's not all heart shaped door wreaths and dancing. I'm definitely going to see it again, so yes I loved it.

Camilou, I wish you were there too.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.
